The SMARTSPEND project will hold a 3rd edition of its Access to Risk Finance Conference and closing event on 18 November 2021, from 09.30 to 13.00 (CET). The conference will mark the end of the SMARTSPEND project and look back on its results. You can see the latest programme here. Sessions will include:
- A panel discussion on the outlook of funding instruments for energy innovation, featuring energy researchers a European Commission official and an expert from the IEA.
- A discussion on the novel instrument of Carbon Contracts for Difference to de-risk innovative clean energy projects under the Innovation Fund of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.
- A report on the exchanges and lessons learnt from a series of high-level meetings between industry-led delegations and national regulators on clean energy innovation that took place over the last 3 years. This session will also provide insights on how the European Technology and Innovation Platforms can take a central role in supporting Europe’s research and innovation agenda and it will look into opportunities for collaboration and development of cross-thematic synergies amongst energy stakeholders.
